Jake Cy Tusin was born on January 3rd 1917 to Harry & Dora Tusin in Chisholm, Minnesota.
Mr. Tusin entered the Army Air Corps on May 19th 1942. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota. He rose to the rank Sergeant,
SGT Tusin served as a squadron inspector and clerk typist with Headquarters of the 405th Fighter Group in the continental U.S. and European Theater in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.
He was awarded the following:
- Presidential Unit Citation,
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 bronze battle stars,
- World War II Victory Medal, -and-
- two overseas service bars.
SGT Tusin was honorably discharged on November 4th 1945. He died on March 31st 1987 in Cook County, Illinois at the age of 70 years old. He is buried at the Hebrew Cemetery in Superior, Wisconsin.
