Ivan Holden

Ivan "Ike" Holden was in the 36th Infantry Division in the Army. He was from Backus, Minnesota and flew out of Texas. There were many other Minnesotans in that division.
He landed in Italy and fought through France, the Rhineland and into Germany.
He was severely injured on March 23rd,1945 when a bomb hit the building next to him.
He recovered and received a Purple Heart for his injuries.
