Italina DiGiambattista was born on June 16th 1918 to Nicholas & Maria [Palazzari] DiGiambattista in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Ms. DiGiambattista made her career as a military nurse in the United States Navy. She served during World War II, then she re-enlited on June 18th 1949 for the Korean War, and then again for the Vietnam War. She was honorably discharged on September 1st 1975. She rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander (LCDR).
CDR DiGiambattista returned home to Hibbing after each war she served in. She stayed active with Veteran affairs as a member of the American Legion, the Italian-American Club, Retired Naval Nurse Corps. Association, and the Retired Officers Association.
Ms. DiGiambattista died on December 2nd 2004 at 86 years of age in Hibbing. She is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
