BIRDSALL, Irven Daniel
Irven Daniel Birdsall was born on February 9th 1924 to Amos Irven & Leona Lenora [Tuenge] Birdsall in Duluth, Minnesota.
Mr. Birdsall registered for military service in May 1943 during WWII. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in June 4th 1943.
He served as a gunner aboard the B-17 Flying Fortress "Leading Lady," in England and Europe. Flew in 30 missions over Germany from the base at Stowmarket, England. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT).
He was honorably discharged on October 13th 1945. After the war, he returned home and married Helen Jane [Bollman] in 1945 and they started a family.
Mr. Birdsall died on June 10th 1997 at 73 years of age in Kelly Lake, Minnesota. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
