Ingolf A. Westerlund

Ingolf A. Westerlund was inducted into the Army on July 24, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Westerlund served as a Technician 4th Grade and a cryptographic technician with the Third Special Platoon of the 3119th Signal Service Battalion in Luzon, Philippines.

He received the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, five overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal.

Mr. Westerlund was honorably discharged on November 29, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
