Ignace Vukad was born on January 2nd 1907 to Peter Vukadenovich in Brlog, Yugoslavia. The family emmigrated to the United States and settled in Kinney, Minnesota.
On February 3rd 1929 Mr. Vukad married Sophie [Galovich] and they started a family. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve on March 23rd 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He served as a Fireman Second Class aboard the USS Basilan (AG66) and at various Navy stations abroad and in the continental U.S.
F2C Vukad was honorably discharged on June 13th 1945, at USN Hospital, Great Lakes, Illinois.
After the war he returned home to his wife and their family.
He died on October 29th 1976 at the age of 69 years old in Virginia, Minnesota. He was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Chisholm, Minnesota.
