Mr. Hoene was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on December 8, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
