Hjalmer Bodin

Mr. Bodin inducted into the Army on March 28, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and antiaircraft gun crewman with Company G of the 289th Infantry Regiment in Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.

He was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal with bronze service star, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, and six overseas service bars.

Honorably discharged October 5, 1945, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
