Herman V. Peterson of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Sept. 5, 1943.
He was a Sergeant and an office machine serviceman with the 343rd Quartermaster Depot Supply Company on New Guinea.
Mr. Petrson received the: Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Unit Award, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with a bronze battle star, Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Feb. 20, 1946.
