Herbert Thomas Despot enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves on Aug. 25, 1942.
He served as a Sergeant in naval aviation. He participated in the Marshall Islands campaign in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Despot was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on Dec. 21, 1945 at Miramar, San Diego, Calif.
