Henry L. Steager

Henry L. Steager was inducted into the Army on April 24, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Sergeant and railway conductor with Company C of the 713th Railway Operating Battalion in Tunisia, North Africa; Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno, Italy; Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

He was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with six bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and five overseas service bars.

Mr. Steager was honorably discharged on September 4, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
