Helmer H. Jackson

Helmer H. Jackson entered the Army on January 23, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and equipment operator with Company B 242 Engineer Combat Battalion in Bismarck Archipelago, Eastern Mandates, South Philippines and Ryukyus.

Mr. Jackson was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon with bronze star and three overseas service bars.

Mr. Jackson was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
