Harriet Lathers

Harriet Lathers was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. She graduated from Central High School and attended Duluth Junior College for two years.

She worked for AT&T before enlisting in the Marine Corps during World War II rising through the ranks to become a Marine Sergeant.

She met her future husband, Peter Basil, while in the Marine Corps. They married after the war and returned to Duluth, Minnesota where they operated a frame and photography shop.

Harriet Lathers Basil died in October 1983.
