Harold J. Heikkila of Embarrass, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army Air Corps on July 27, 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Staff Sergeant and tail gunner with the 700th Bomb Squadron of the 445th Bomb Group based in England. He flew a combat missions over Central Europe, Northern France, Germany, Rhineland and Ardennes.
Mr. Heikkila was awarded the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Aerial Gunner Badge, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars and one overseas bar.
He was honorably discharged on Sept. 17, 1945 at Santa Ana, Calif.
