LAINE, Harold Gust
Harold Gust Laine was born on June 15th 1907 to Gust Robert & Alexsandra [Peltomaki] Laine in Angora, Minnesota.
Mr. Laine was inducted into the Army on January 23rd 1943.
He served with the 981st Engineer Maintenance Company in Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. It was part of the MN TEC. He rose to the rank of Technician 5th Grade.
TEC5 Laine earned the following merits for his service:
- European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars,
- two overseas service bars, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on September 21st 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. After the war he returned home to Angora.
Mr. Laine died on February 23rd 1967 at the age of 59 years. He is buried at Alongo Cemetery in Angora, Minnesota.
