Hans R. Nordstrom

Hans R. Nordstrom was inducted into the Army on January 23, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and railway brakeman with Company C of the 727th Railway Operating Battalion in Tunisia, North Africa, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

Mr. Nordstrom was awarded the following: American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with six bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal,  and five overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on August 25, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
