Gilbert Prout of Leonidas, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on July 25, 1942.
He was a Corporal with Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 95th Infantry Regiment, serving in northern France and the Rhineland. He was wounded in action in January 1945.
Mr. Prout received the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with five bronze battle stars, American Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Feb. 8, 1946.
