Gilbert B. Johnson of Angora, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on April 24, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Technician 5th Grade for the Corps of Engineers at the Prisoner of War Camp Detachment #1 with the 1908 Service Command Unit in the China-Burma-India Theater.
Mr. Johnson was awarded the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Defense Service Medal with foreign service clasp, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on September 22, 1945 at Camp Cooke, Calif.
