Gerald F. Sheehy

Gerald F. Sheehy entered the Army on December 16, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Cloquet, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and truck driver with the Headquarters Company of the 89th Tank Destroyer Battalion in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley, Italy.

He was wounded in action on June 1, 1944 in Italy.

Mr. Sheehy was awarded the following: Purple Heart, Citation from France, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on October 19, 1945 at Winter Army Gereral Hospital, Topeka, Kansas.
