George R. Hunt entered the Naval Reserve on April 9, 1943.

He served as a Ship's Cook 2nd Class aboard the USS LCT 1030 and USS LCT 6 of Group 48; USS LCT Group 28; USS LCT Group 85; USS LCT Group 27; and with Task Force 53 in the Pacific. 

Mr. Hunt was awarded the Unit Commendation, Commander, Task Force 53.

He was honorably discharged May 7, 1946 at Minneapolis, Minn.
