He was a Private First Class with the Annti-Tank Company, 359th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division, serving in northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
He received the: Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with five bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead, American Campaign Service Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
He was discharged on Oct. 31, 1945.
