LOUZENSKY, George
George Louzensky was born on February 12th to Frank & Cecilie [Kotek] Louzensky in Chicago, Illinois. The family moved to Meadowlands, Minnesota.
Mr. Louzensky enlisted in the Army on October 21st 1940, at Duluth, Minnesota. Home at entry: Meadowlands.
He served as a rifle instructor in the Aleutians and continental U.S. He rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSGT).
SGT Louzensky earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Defense Service,
- Medal Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star,
- World War II Victory Medal, -and-
- four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged July 4th 1945, at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After the war, he returned home and married Catherine Louise [Levar] around 1950 and they started a family.
Mr. Louzensky died on June 12th 1983 at 64 years of age. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
