George H. Pugel

George H. Pugel of Eveleth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on June 27, 1945.
He was a Private First Class and a guard patrolman with Company B, 309th Infantry, serving on German occupation duty.
Mr. Pugel received the: American Campaign Service Medal, Army of Occupation Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Jan. 19, 1945.
He re-enlisted and during the Korean War was a Sergeant First Class and record inspector with the Adjutant General Corps, 504th Administrative Company, 4th Armored Division.
Mr. Pugel then received received the: Good Conduct Medal, 3rd award, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and United Nations Service Medal.
He retired after 20 years service on Sept. 30, 1966.
