MIHELICK, George Eugene
George Eugene Mihelick was born on January 22nd 1925 to George W. & Mary B. [Oberstar] Mihelick in Duluth, Minnesota.
Mr. Mihelick of Gilbert, Minnesota registerd for military service on December 29th 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on November 16th 1944.
He was an airplane and engine mechanic, B-29s, in the 324th Army Air Forces Base Unit. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL).
CPL Mihelick earned the following merits for his service:
- Army Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Service Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on June 29th 1946. After the war he returned home and married Marie Wilhelmina [Spacil] on November 29th 1952 and started a family.
Mr. Mihelick died on November 9th 1986 and 61 years of age. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Duluth.
