George Badovinac

BADOVINAC, George
George Badovinac was born on June 12th 1923 to David & Anna [Balich] Badovinac in Chisholm, Minnesota.
Mr. Badovinac inducted into the Army Air Corps on May 25th 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.
He served as a Clerk-typist with Headquarters Company of the European Division and Air Transport Command of the 1400th Army Air Forces Base Unit.
He earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, -and-
- four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged March 28th 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
After the war he returned home and married Clovis Onita [Grant] and they started a family.
The family tragically died on September 6th 1970 in a light aircraft crash near Portage, Wisconsin. George and his family were buried in Calvary Cemetery in Chisholm.
