George Anderson inducted into the Army August 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Mountain Iron, Minnesota.
He served as a Private First Class and a driver-mechanic with Company B of the 62nd Signal Battalion in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, Po Valley, and in the Pacific Theater.
He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, and four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 29, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
