Geno Monacelli enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve on July 17, 1942.

He was a Staff Sergeant and an aviation mechanic and gunner in the Pacific Theater.

He "participated in action against enemy shipping and installations at Munda airfield Oct. 15, 1943 to Nov. 22, 1943 and consolidation of Southern and Northern Solomon Islands."

He was discharged on September 27, 1945. He also served postwar from 1951-52.
