VIGER, Fredric
Fredric Viger was born on January 19th 1921 to Frederick Henry & Helen Dorothy [Collins] in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Mr. Viger entered the Marine Corps and had his basic training at Camp Pendleton, California. He served as a Staff Sargent in Hawaii and the South Pacific.
SSGT Viger was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7th 1941.
His family had no contact until the middle of January the following year. His father said of his baby son, "The best Christmas gift we could get would be to know that Freddie was O.K." He came home with shrapnel injuries to his legs.
SSGT Viger was honorable discharged February 28th 1945.
Mr. Viger died on February 8th 1996 in Riverside, California. He is buried at Riverside National Cemetery .
