Fred Theodore Nyman Sr. was born on April 23, 1917 to Victor and Olga Nyman. At sixteen he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps.
During World War II he served in the European theater and as a memeber of the Ninety-First Infantry Division.
He won a commendation for heroic achievement at Bologna, the Po Valley, and in the Alps.
He was a member of the VFW Post 137.
He died Thursday, February 27, 2003 in the Benedictine Health Center.
