Fred F. Pike of Aurora was inducted into the Army Air Corps on April 25, 1942.
He was a Sergeant and an aircraft welder with the 312th Bomb Group, serving in the Philippines in the air offensives involving Japan, China, New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago.
Mr.Pike received the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with seven bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with a bronze star, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Oct. 25, 1945.
