Fred Decobellis entered the Army Air Corps April 30,1942. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Technical Sergeant with the Fifth U.S. Army in New Guinea in the Pacific Theater.

He was killed when he was struck by an airplane propeller at Nadzab, New Guinea, on May 5, 1944.

Special Note:

Fred and Ernest were brothers. Within the same week, their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Decobellis of Chisholm, were informed of both their sons deaths.
