Frans Henry Koivu of Aurora, Minnesota, enlisted in the Naval Reserve on July 13, 1942.

He was a Motor Machinist's Mate 2nd Class in the continental United States and aboard the USS LCI 1001.

Mr. Koivu received the Good Conduct Medal.

He was honorably discharged on January 6, 1946 at Minneapolis, Minn.
