Frank Novoselac of Chisholm, MN was inducted into the Army on December 11, 1942.

"Our first night on the beachhead was a nightmare. German planes threw everything at us, from bombs to rocks. Norm and I poked our heads from underneath the blankets and the sky was one mass of red. I guess it was too early to be celebrating the 4th of July, but they were really shooting down Jerry planes."
Mr. Nonoselac received the: Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.
He was discharged from the service on November 1, 1945.
