Frank J. Jerich of Ely, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on August 26, 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Private First Class with Company B of the Chemical Mortar Battalion at Normandy (D-plus-1), Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland.
Mr. Jerich received the: Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 10, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
