Frank Galaski of Virginia, Minnesota, was inducted into the Navy on July 1, 1943.

He served as a Carpenter's Mate 3rd Class with the 116th Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees) in the Pacific Theater.

He participated in building an aircraft engine overhaul facility in Hawaii which shortened engine replacement time by eliminating necessity of shipping engines to continental United States for overhaul.

He was attached to 10th Army for Okinawa invasion but his ship exploded before they could leave Hawaii. He shipped out for Japan Aug. 25, 1945, and landed with the initial occupation force where he stayed 77 days before returning to the United States.

He was honorably discharged March 1, 1946 at Minneapolis, Minn.
