"Reached Munich, Germany, on April 30. Division liberated Dachau about April 28. Went into occupation duty in Austria. On April 17, I was promoted to First Sergeant. On October 18, I was transferred to Service Company of the 250th Field Artillery Battalion and December 11 to Headquarters Company of the 302nd Infantry Regt. and 94th Infantry Div. Returned to the U.S. on January 29.
Awarded: Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service.
Discharged Fort George G. Meade, Md., February 9, 1946."
