Frank E. Steblay

Frank E. Steblay was inducted into the Army on September 19, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Biwabik, Minnesota.

He served as a Technical Sergeant and platoon leader with Company G of the 163rd Infantry Regiment in New Guinea, Papua, and Southern Philippines. He was wounded in action on January 17, 1943.

Mr. Steblay was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, six overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal.

He was honorably discharged on August 23, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
