Floyd K. Gulbranson of Gilbert, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on October 28, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Technician 4th Grade and medic with the Medical Detachment of the 3rd Engineer Battalion in the Philippines, Luzon, New Guinea and Eastern U.S. Mandates.
He was awarded the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, and five overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged Oct. 10, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
