Floyd J. Irwin of Virginia, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on July 25, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Staff Sergeant, anti-tank NCO, Company B, 772nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, Central Europe, Ardennes, Rhineland. He was wounded in action in Germany on April 7, 1945.
Mr. Irwin was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged April 29, 1947 from Percy Jones General Army Hospital, Fort Custer, Mich.
