Floyd Gust Lammi served in World War II in both Alaska and in the European Theater. In both places, he supervised the repair and maintenance of military machinery.
Floyd was born on September 25, 1919 in Salo Township, Aitkin County, near Lawler, Minnesota. He attended McGregor High School. He left home to work in the Civilian Conservation Corps, where he trained and worked as a mechanic.
Mr. Lammi died at age 88 in Cloquet, Minnesota, on July 17, 2008.
