Farnam C. Stone served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 22, 1944.
Mr. Stone was trained in machine records maintenance and was stationed in the Territory of Hawaii. He was assigned to the 6266th Machine Records Unit, Mid-Pacific Command. He synthesized statistical data and prepared monthly reports on the strength of the Mid-Pacific Command. These were sent to Washington, D.C., and to Manila, the Philippines.
Mr. Stone was discharged on November 12, 1946. His rank was Corporal. His job was Tabulating Machine Operator.
He was decorated with the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal.
Mr. Stone was born in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of George and Helen Stone, in 1927.
