Everette E. Tolle

Everett E. Tolle was inducted into the Army on September 14, 1943.
Mr. Tolle served as a Corporal and clerk typist with Company C of the 163rd Infantry Regiment of the 41st Infantry Division in Southern Philippines and New Guinea. He was twice wounded in action in the Philippines on April 12, 1945.
He was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged January 9, 1946, at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.
Mr. Tolle reentered the Army on October 18, 1950, and served overseas in the Infantry during the Korean Conflict. He was wounded in action by mortar fragments on March 16, 1951, near Sangoremokchong, Korea.
He was awarded the following: Second Oak Leaf Cluster to Purple Heart (representing third award of this decoration), National Defense Service Medal, and Korean Service Medal.
Mr. Tolle was honorably discharged on completion of service in the Enlisted Reserve Corps on September 1, 1951.
