Evelyn L. Wahlquist entered the service with the American Red Cross in 1941. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

She served as a recreational director in the United States, Japan, and Guam. While in Guam she had a buttercup-yellow Jeep but, before returning to the United States, traded the Jeep for a Japanese mink jacket. After 26 years of service in the American Red Cross, she retired in 1967.
