Eugene W. Mattila of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on April 30, 1942.

Mr. Mattila received the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars, American Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.

He was discharged on Dec. 12, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
