Mr. Hines was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged January 15, 1946, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
