Eugene "Gene" M. Frink

Eugene "Gene" M. Frink served during World War II in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946.
His ship was sunk by a kamikaze. After his rescue and recovery from serious injuries, for which he received the Purple Heart, he returned to Duluth, Minnesota in April 1946.
He was born July 21, 1924, the son of James Mather Frink and Josephine Louise (Gibeau) Frink. In 1943, he graduated from Duluth Cathedral and ten days later enlisted in the Navy.
Mr. Frink died at age 83 in Vista, California, on April 23, 2008.
