Mr. Berg inducted into the Army Air Corps October 7, 1942.
He served as a Sergeant with the 756th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley, Italy; and Normandy, Norther France, Southern France. Rhineland, and Air Combat Balkans.
He was awarded the following: Presidential Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with nine bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.
Mr. Berg was honorably discharged on August 18, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
