Erland S. Korpi

Erland S. Korpi was inducted into the Army on October 9, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Iron, Minnesota.

He served as a Corporal and rifleman with Company B of the 417th Infantry Regiment in Rhineland and Central Europe.

Mr. Korpi was awarded the: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) annd two overseas service bars. 

He was honorably discharged on August 9, 1946, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
