Emil M. Hill

Emil M. Hill of Makinen, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on July 6, 1942  at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He served as a Private First Class and longshoreman in Company D of the 532nd Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment in New Guinea and Southern Philippines.

Mr. Hill was awarded the: Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged November 10, 1945 at Camp Grant, Ill.
