STARKOVICH, Emerald June
Emerald June Starkovich (nee Task) was born on June 1st 1924 to Walter & Mary [Peura] Tast in Ely, Minnesota.
She enlisted in the U.S. Navy Women's Naval Reserve on September 21st 1944. She served as a secretary in the Women's Naval Reserve (WAVES). She rose to the rank of Yeoman Second Class (Y2c)
Ms. Starkovich was honorably discharged on May 17th 1946. After the war she returned home and married Martin Bruce Starkovich on May 14th 1947 and they started a family.
Ms. Starkovich died on April 15th 1961 at 36 years of age. She is buried at Ely Municipal Cemetery.
